From School Library Journal
Librarians, whether new or experienced, will have as much fun as children when they put on any of these 10 plays. The basic information includes how to hold and move the puppets and how to use "voices." The scripts are ready for use but may be altered or adapted for the appropriate age group. Each tale comes with suggested props that are readily obtainable, plus excellent patterns for the puppets. Directions for assembling them are simpler than those in Caroline Feller Bauer's Handbook for Storytellers (ALA, 1977) or in Vivian and Barbara Dubrovin's Storytelling Discoveries (Storycraft, 2002). The sewing, pasting, and assembling are straightforward enough for most students to prepare in part or whole; or, this would be a great project for parent volunteers. The style of the fractured tales is lively, irreverent, funny, and appealing. A solid addition to classroom and library collections for storytelling, puppetry, and creative dramatics.
